Frequently Asked Questions

Most answers to the questions you need are found within this site ... but perhaps you're short on time.   That's okay.   This page is for you.
  1. What is Christ Above Politics / CAP?
It is a Member Benefits Association for Christians age 50+. For a small membership fee, the members have access to many benefits that can enrich their lives plus save time and money.
  2. How much does it cost to join?
$15 per year or less if you pay for more than one year. Texas residents pay sales tax.
  3. What I do get for my money?
Discounts on an ever growing array of products and services. Honest, no-hassle quotes on insurance. A forum to interact with other members around the country. Exclusive articles written by Christians for Christians.
  4. How is this different or better than AARP?
CAP Membership fees support the body of Christ. None of it will go to lobbyists or politicians. Some benefits are distinctly Christian. In relation to insurance, we have many more companies to choose from. Everything we do is to be pleasing to God and a blessing to others. Will AARP pray for you?
  5. How old do you have to be?
At least 50 years old, or one spouse needs to be at least 50. Lifetime members need to be at least 60 or one spouse 60.
  6. Can I add a dependent?
Yes. Dependents must live in the same household, can be older or younger (a parent or a child), and abide by the rules in the Terms of Service.
  7. Can I pay online? with a check?
Yes. You can pay online by using PayPal. You do not need to have a PayPal account to pay with a bank card. Or you can mail a check to PO Box 3032, Grapevine TX 76099.
  8. I'm already a member of AARP (or AMAC or other org.) can I join CAP?
You can join anytime and you can be a member of more than one organization.
  9. Can I cancel anytime?
Yes; however, there is a 1 year $15 minimum admin fee. Read all Terms of Membership.
  10. Do you still send the newsletters?
A monthly newsletter is now sent via email to active members. CAP Connection that was sent in the mail is currently on hold. The goal for 2019 is to create an annual publication that will be mailed to all active members who are encouraged to keep up with changes online in the secure Members Only area.
  11. Why do you have Politics in the name?
Because AARP and all of the other alternatives to AARP are political. We are an alternative to every single one of these political associations. Our focus, and common bond between members, is our faith in Jesus Christ. We exalt Him above everything - including politics.
  12. Do you think people should or shouldn't vote?
If you want to vote, then vote. If you want to give to a political cause, then give to a political cause. Whatever you do, do it to be pleasing to God and a blessing to others - and let the Bible be your guide.
